Member since 2018 Mr Andrew H

I am currently Head of Computing and ICT Northgate High School. I teach A level Computer Science, GCSE Computer Science, Cambridge Technicals in IT level 3, iMedia and KS3. During my tenure as Head of Department I have redesigned the curriculum to reflect the needs of industry and to engage and inspire my students. I have introduced the level 3 Cambridge technical in IT to offer an industry standard IT qualification. iMedia has been brought in at KS4, to meet the need for future front-end designers, which perfectly complements the GCSE in Computer Science. Many of my students take both qualifications at KS4 and then go on to take both the level 3 in IT and the A level in Computer Science. At A level my students now can use Unity to develop 3d games, this is used in commercial games development. The numbers of students taking a qualification in Computing has risen fourfold during my time at Northgate.
